Pest Exterminators Association of the Philippines, Inc. ( PEAP) celebrates its 40th Anniversary and Past Presidents' Homecoming last March 7, 2019 at Club Filipino , San Juan City. It was organized by Incumbent Pres. Danny Magpantay and all PEAP Board of Directors and sponsored by LEADS EH and MACODYN, INC. Infinity Pest Control is a proud member of PEAP.

The Pest Exterminators Association of the Philippines (PEAP), was founded in 1979. It is a non-profit association of duly licensed pest control operators. It envisions to be at the forefront of protecting the health and environment of the Filipino consumers through professional, effective and responsible use of Philippine government’s designated agency registered pest management products, methodologies and related technologies, thereby ensuring considerable assistance in the promotion of safety and protection of the general public and the globally challenged environment.

HISTORY:

In March of 1979, it was a warm and beautiful summer day, and the FPA-sponsored pre-licensing seminar had been well attended. There were no less than 50 independent pest controllers in attendance, all willing to learn and comply with the new regulations; among them was Julio Salazar, owner and operator of J.A. Salazar, a struggling young pest control operator.

Dependable Pest Control (now Multipest Services) and the late col. Marcelo “Roy” Roa-Yu, a retired colonel who was already a prosperous owner and operator of Emar Merchandising and Pest Control Services at the time and whose name was well-known in the industry circles.

It was already the third day of the seminar. These two gentlemen had chosen to separate themselves from the main body of participants during the midday break. They settled into a comfortable and cozy spot on the AIT grounds and began small talk, which eventually led to a topic of mutual interest.

Roy was a member in good standing of the country's sole pest control organization at the time. However, he had become disenchanted and disillusioned with it by this time for purely personal reasons, so it's no surprise that the man began toying with the idea of resigning from that organization and joining another, but there was simply no such choice available at the time. So, when July Salazar proposed the idea of forming and founding a new organization along the same philosophical lines as Roy's, Roy became enthralled, and after more cajoling from July, he eventually agreed to organize such an organization. July took on the role of self-appointed legman, and the campaign began in earnest.

The organization's first meeting was held at the Capitol Hills Golf Club house. Nearly a hundred people came to hear what the good ex-colonel had to say because July had done such a good job. Roy delivered his message at the scheduled time. The PCOs, on the whole, were pleased with this. When the meeting ended, some members of the audience decided to remain behind to learn more about the proposed new organization. This party, as it turned out later, became the new association's hard-core element.

Several more meetings followed, during which the finer points of organization were discussed and ironed out. The name of the organization was unanimously adopted at one of these meetings, which was held at the Philippine Columbian. It was, and continues to be, the Pest Exterminator’s Association of The Philippines, Inc. The association's first president, Marcelo "Roy" Roa-Yu, was elected with a landslide victory.
